Kudos to Lily Leung staff real estate writer for the San Diego Union Tribune for writing a truthful and informative article on Short  Sales in today's paper.

Distressed owners have often a difficult time navigating between the many options offered to them, many of which are more promises that never materialize than real solutions. Lien holders approval of Short Sales is voluntary and case by case but any experienced Short Sale Realtor can suggest the best way to proceed in order to obtain the desired results.

Owners occupying the property that they wish to Short Sale have many legal protections, investors have fewer but both can apply for a Short Sale approval.

As Lily Leung wrote: "Short sales can be lifesavers for consumers who want to shed real estate and avoid foreclosure or are steals for house hunters, from first-timers to move-up buyers."
